Nicholas Hanzlik Mayer

Meet Nicholas

Nicholas Hanzlik Mayer is no stranger to the world of aviation.  When Nicholas received his pilot’s certificate at age 17, he continued a legacy that began over 75 years ago.

Nicholas’ great grandfather, Rayburn O. Hanzlik, obtained his private and commercial pilot certification in 1941, which preceded several years as a naval aviator and flight instructor during the Second World War. By the early 2000s, Rayburn was among the world’s oldest living pilots, flying his restored Aeronca Sedan until the age of 96.

His two sons, Ray and Willard, became pilots at a young age as well, learning to fly as teenagers in the family Luscombe Model 8.  Ray served for years as a Naval aviator, with deployment to Vietnam in the 1960s.

With Hanzlik Aviation, Nicholas looks forward to carrying on the tradition.
